Clearlake Trunk or Treat

Trunk or Treat is back! This year’s 9th annual Clearlake Trunk or Treat will take place at Austin Park, with a thoughtful setup that is socially distant and safe. Trick-or-treaters will follow a path around Austin Park, gathering candy at different stations in a no-touch environment.

Families should park in the Haverty Field parking lot on Austin Road.

Volunteers Needed

Given the impact of COVID-19, we want this to be the biggest Trunk or Treat ever so kids don’t have to go door to door through our neighborhoods. To do that, we need your help. We need folks handing out candy from decorated trunks, we need people to guide families around Austin Park and to the designated parking places, and we need candy. LOTS of candy.

If you have a business, this is a great opportunity to showcase it along that walking path. Deadline to register a vehicle is Thursday, Oct. 27. Let’s make this a special time of year for our kids!

2022 Trunk or Treat Rules/Guidelines

  • Families will be directed around Austin Park on a coordinated path to ensure social distancing. Please stay on the path and listen to volunteers.

  • This will be a no touch candy drop. Candy must be pre-packaged (no homemade treats) and items with nuts should be identified or not given out. Those at trunks giving out candy must wear gloves and drop candy in bags. No reaching in bags, no touching bags, and no one should be grabbing candy out of a trunks bag or an attendee’s bag. This way a clean hand is grabbing candy and dropping them in the bags for little to no potential of spreading anything at all.

  • Candy giving Trunker cars will be parked in the north and south parking lots of the park. They will be every other spot leaving approximately 9 feet distancing between vehicles.

  • Those Trunkers need to stay socially distanced from other Trunkers to minimize proximity interactions.

  • Attendees must move along. Visit a trunk, take a picture if you like it, and then get candy and move on.

  • If there is a line 6-foot distancing will be required. This will be in effect for both the trunks and for the entrance to the event.

  • We will be asking attendees to only go through the event circuit once.

  • The event will be from 4-6pm with 3-4pm being the setup time and 6-7pm being the cleanup time.

  • Parking brakes must be set on all participating vehicles.
